What is Micro Green?
Small things add up!
Its about the little things we can all do to reduce our impact on the environment without sacrificing a modern lifestyle. Some of these things are amazingly easy to do and take very little effort. Some of them will save you money, others may save you time. Some of them are educational and demonstrate a scientific principle. Some of them might just be good fun!

Our mission
Information and practical ideas
Our aim is to provide information, ideas and inspiration to help you make changes that will protect our planet from further damage. The ideas and projects will range from simple ideas that you can implement within minutes to more ambitious projects such as a DIY wind turbine or solar power. While we will cover a range of ideas the focus will be on low cost and DIY solutions that are within reach of everyone.
Saving you money
Being green has financial benefits
A side effect of being green is that as well as saving the planet, it often saves you money too. We belive that the monetary cost of living, i.e. eating, travel, heating and powering a home is often related to the environmental cost. With that in mind we focus on ideas that save you money as well. We all like to save money so this site will appeal to everyone!
Educational and fun
A fun learning experience
We believe this site will also help to educate people about the damage we are inflicting on our planet and the simple steps we can take to prevent it. As well as educating about green issues some of the topics covered require a certain level of understanding of scientific principals and maths, we will explain the science behind being green at a level suitable for everyone ranging from beginner to expert! We also like to keep things positive and up beat so expect to see to occasional injection of homour!

Even those who dismiss global warming should be tempted by the cheaper alternatives. There are plently of alternatives out there, so why are we not driving around in electric cars? Read more »

Milk Goes Green
Supermarket offers milk in a bag
Nipping down the shops to pick up a bag of milk may sound strange but could soon become the norm as a new eco friendly milk container is introduced. Sainsbury's is leading the way and will be selling milk in the new bags from Wednesday. Britons consume around 180 million pints of milk each week, so it sounds like a great idea and should help to reduce packaging waste. However, the idea is not new and has been tried before, so whats so great about it and will it work this time? Read more »
